SOLO SPOTLIGHT

This Week’s Highlights

Hi,

Here’s what’s new and happening inside the SOLO Academy this week.

I’ve already spotted a few strong contenders for earning the “Year Strong” Water Bottle this year. If you missed what that is, you’ll find the details below.

You’ll also see the next belt test dates, so now’s the time to get ready.

NEW FOR 2026: YEAR STRONG RECOGNITION

Earned through consistent training across 2026.

If you missed this earlier in the year, here’s a quick reminder of the new Year Strong recognition at SOLO.

At the end of 2026, students who train consistently across the year will be recognised with a SOLO Year Strong Water Bottle.

Not about perfection.
Just staying on the path.

Awards presented at the end of the year.

January Academy Update

Family Focus Week • Next Belt Testing Date • New Kids Life Skills Channel

Family Focus Week
Train together. Grow together.
Quick update — Family Focus Week has been rescheduled, so please ignore the previous March dates.
We’re excited to confirm our upcoming Family Focus Week at SOLO. This is a unique opportunity for you to step onto the mats and experience part of your child’s training alongside them.
📅 New Dates:
Tuesday 16th June
Thursday 18th June
Important:
• One parent per child
• No experience needed
• Guided, fun, and structured
Parents can alternate each time we run this, so both can be involved across future sessions.
Helps us organise groups in advance for each session.
🥋

2026 Belt Testing Calendar

Well done to all students who passed our first belt test of 2026.
Next Belt Test: Monday 15th June

🐬 Ninja Fin Has Arrived
You may start to hear your child mention something new in their training…

Ninja Fin is now being awarded in sessions.
💪 What it represents
👉 Strength
👉 Confidence
👉 Resilience...learning to keep going when things feel challenging
Students who earn this are showing they’re willing to give full effort, push themselves, and keep going — even when something feels difficult.
👊 What to listen for
If your child mentions they’ve earned Ninja Fin, it means they’ve shown a strong moment of effort and confidence during their training.
👉 “I’m proud of how hard you kept going”
We’ll also be bringing back the Ninja Blaze home challenge later this year 👀

LEADERSHIP CORNER

Weekly reflections with Coach Sensei Dee

Leadership Corner
Keep Showing Up,
Even When It’s Tough

One of the hardest things for children to understand…

is that progress comes from simply showing up.
Not just on the good days…
but on the days it feels harder.
“The days you don’t feel like training…
are the days that matter most.”
Every time they step on the mats, they’re building:
Focus
Discipline
Resilience
That’s what leadership really is.
Not being perfect… but learning to keep moving forward.
We’re proud of every student who keeps showing up 👊
